TriPeaks Solitaire Rules Explained

28 cards are arranged in three overlapping peaks (hence TriPeaks). Each peak is a pyramid of three rows: 1 card at the top, 2 below it, 3 at the base — but the three bases merge into a shared bottom row of 10 cards. Only the fully exposed bottom row starts face-up; cards in upper rows are face-down until the cards below them are removed. The remaining 24 cards form the stock.

A card in the layout is playable when it is fully exposed — not covered by any other card. A card from the layout can be moved to the waste pile if its rank is exactly one higher or one lower than the current waste top. The sequence wraps: an Ace can go on a 2 or a King; a King can go on a Queen or an Ace.

When no layout card is one rank away from the waste top, click the stock to flip a new waste card. The stock doesn't refill — when it's exhausted the game ends. This means wasting stock cards is costly; use the layout whenever possible.

Each card removed from the layout scores points. The key mechanic is the streak (or chain) bonus: consecutive layout cards removed without flipping the stock score increasing points. The first card in a chain scores 1 point, the second 2, the third 3, and so on — up to very large numbers for long chains. Building long chains is the primary skill of TriPeaks and what separates good scores from great ones.

The game ends when either all 28 layout cards are cleared (a win) or the stock runs out with cards still on the layout (a loss). Unlike Klondike, TriPeaks doesn't always have a clean 'win condition' — the game can be completed in some implementations just by achieving a high score before the stock runs out.
